The Jeju Livestock Farmers Cooperative (Chairman Ko Gwon-jin) and the Jeju Dairy Genetic Center (Center Director Moon Byeong-seon) visited the Genesis Company in Canada from the 19th to the 24th, together with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Livestock Life Research Institute (Director Kim Dae-cheol), to directly select high-quality breeding pigs for distribution to member farms. Within Jeju, the Jeju Livestock Farmers Cooperative and the Jeju Livestock Life Research Institute are distributing candidate breeding pigs to pig farms, and with this trip, they plan to import Yorkshire, Landrace, and Duroc breeding pigs, distinguishing between males and females. Chairman Ko Gwon-jin stated, "This import of breeding pigs will contribute to producing and distributing high-quality candidate breeding pigs with excellent breeding and farrowing abilities, which are necessary for establishing pig farm lineages."
