The Jeju Agricultural Technology Institute and local agricultural corporations will begin experimental cultivation of Jeju potatoes in Namibia, Africa, using 100 kg of 'Tamna' seed potatoes. This initiative is part of the cooperation agreement between Jeju Island and Namibia in the primary industry, renewable energy, and tourism sectors, and is expected to contribute to solving Namibia's food problems. In a previous experiment, which involved cultivating four types of Jeju potatoes on 1,984㎡ of farmland in Namibia, the harvest was significantly lower than expected at 1.6 tons.
