Jeonnam Provincial Animal Hygiene Testing Institute (Director Jeong Ji-young) recently announced that it is maintaining emergency prevention measures, including strengthening inspections and thorough examinations of pig farms and related facilities, and operating a response command center, following the outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) at a pig farm in Dangjin, Chungnam. This outbreak increases the risk of regional spread, making close response crucial to maintaining clean areas. The Jeonnam Provincial Animal Hygiene Testing Institute plans to expand the scope of thorough inspections of pig farms and livestock facilities in the Jeonnam region to block the possibility of infection. Jeonnam Province aims to detect the African swine fever virus early this year by including vulnerable farms in the inspection of pig farms and livestock-related facilities.
