Jeonnam Province, in collaboration with cities and counties, will operate a concentrated collection period for agricultural waste in the second half of the year until December 15 to prevent illegal incineration and promote recycling. As the autumn harvest season approaches, rural waste such as abandoned agricultural plastics and old pesticide containers, which are easily left in farmland, will be collected intensively. Waste materials that are difficult to recycle (e.g., waste non-woven fabrics, shading nets) will also be collected. To promote concentrated collection during this period, Jeonnam Province will actively educate and publicize the collection reward system and separation and discharge guidelines through village head meetings, billboards, etc. The province also plans to strengthen inspections of illegal activities such as field burning and open-air incineration to prevent forest fires and reduce fine dust emissions.
