Jeonnam Province and Jeonnam Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation held a two-day "Capacity Enhancement Workshop for the Stable Production and Supply of Garlic and Onions by 2025" in Yeosu until the 18th to review supply and demand stabilization strategies as the nation's largest primary production area and to discuss the strengthening of a producer-centered cooperative system. Over 120 participants, including garlic and onion producers and local governments in major production areas, as well as National Agricultural Cooperative Federation officials, attended the workshop. Discussions centered on "measures to stabilize the supply and demand of garlic and onions for the 2026 crop." Itae Moon, a policy advisor for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, gave a lecture on "the role of primary production area councils and producers in the new government's agricultural policy." Additionally, cultivation in the Jeonnam region was discussed.
