The indigenous veld goat agricultural development project, a collaborative effort between Inkosi Zwelothando Mabandla, AfriForum, and the Southern African Agri Initiative (Saai), has been launched in the AmaBhele kaJamangile Kingdom in the Eastern Cape. The project, which aims to establish a profitable and sustainable indigenous veld goat herd farming enterprise over six years, has received its first 21 Nguni veld goats. The initiative not only focuses on transferring knowledge and skills to community members but also seeks to promote intercultural collaboration and community self-sufficiency, with the longer-term goal of creating a network of cultural communities to ensure a safe and prosperous future.
