Junín: Snowfall impacts crops in the province of Yauli

A significant snowfall in Yauli province on March 10 has led to severe damage to a variety of crops, including potato, broad bean, grain and forage barley, wheat, and quinoa. The most impacted areas were Santa Rosa de Sacco, Huayhuay, Chacapalpa, Paccha, Huaynacancha, and Huari. The Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Junín is currently evaluating the damage with the Yauli Agrarian Agency to estimate the losses and activate the Catastrophic Agricultural Insurance. Support measures are also being organized for the affected farmers.
