The article reports on the start of the harvest season for Kadirli radish in Osmaniye, Turkey, a variety of radish with geographical indication registration. The radish is currently being sold for 10-15 liras per kilogram during the harvest season. However, the yield is expected to decrease by 34% compared to last year due to hot weather and low rainfall, with an anticipated production of 105 thousand tons. Despite the high prices and good profit margins for farmers, the decrease in yield is a concern. The radish cultivation provides employment for 5 thousand people in the district.
