HortiNigeria, a Dutch-funded horticulture project, is set to help over 60,000 tomato farmers in Kano and Kaduna states combat the pest Tuta absoluta using new pest management techniques. The project is implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methods, including chemical and biological pest management. The initiative also aims to connect farmers with markets to boost their income. The demonstration of these new techniques is crucial for farmers to learn and replicate on their farms, helping them overcome the challenges they face in tomato production.
