Kazakhstan has completed the 2025 sowing campaign

This year’s sowing campaign was held with an emphasis on diversifying agricultural production and reducing dependence on monocultures. The government of Kazakhstan introduced new approaches to financing, making preferential loans available to farmers from December 2024, which allowed for the advance purchase of necessary inputs. The share of strategically important crops in the crop structure has increased: grains and legumes occupied 4.6 million hectares, and the area under oilseeds reached a record 430 thousand hectares, which is 161 thousand hectares more than last year. In addition, the area under fodder crops, vegetables and potatoes has been expanded. The main grain-sowing regions remain Akmola, Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions.
