In 2025, the area of grain crops harvested in Kazakhstan decreased by 5.8% compared to the previous year to 15.129 million hectares, and the harvest after processing increased by 1.5% to 24.948 million tons. By crop, the area and yield changed as follows: Wheat harvest areas decreased by 6.7% to 12.195 million hectares (in particular, soft wheat – by 5.6% to 11.801 million hectares and durum wheat – by 31% to 0.394 million hectares), and the harvest increased by 4% to the second highest in history (after 2011) of 19.326 million tons (in particular, soft wheat – by 5.5% to 18.531 million tons, while the durum wheat harvest decreased by 22% to 795 thousand tons).
