Safflower oil, known for its nutritional benefits and low demand in Kazakhstan, is produced and exported by the Kaz-Ir Agro enterprise in the Zhambyl region. The oil, rich in linoleic acid and other polyunsaturated fatty acids, has potential health benefits against heart diseases. Despite its advantages and Kazakhstan's global rank in safflower production, it remains underused domestically. The plant also produces safflower cake for livestock feed and employs 70 people, with an annual production of nearly 1,700 tons of oil and 4,750 tons of cake.
