Kenya sends first shipment of avocados to India

Kenya begins exporting avocados to India. During the ceremony to dispatch the first shipment of avocados, State Department of Crop Development chief Kello Harsama emphasized the government's commitment to promoting agricultural growth and sustainability while strengthening international partnerships, EastFruit reported, citing Citizen Digital. “This is a significant event for both Kenya and India, symbolizing the results of our focused bilateral negotiations. Today, we are proud to begin exporting Kenyan avocados to the Indian market,” said Harsama. The executive noted that Kenya, the leading exporter of avocados in Africa and the sixth largest in the world, will develop new markets for the product. “We will continue to seek new markets for our farmers in keeping with the spirit of our bottom-up economic transformation agenda,” he said.
