Jeonbuk Gimje City (Mayor Jeong Seong-ju) has been selected as the final candidate for the "Soybean Self-Reliant Complex Complex Creation Project" bid organized by the Rural Development Administration. Gimje City plans to invest 2 billion won from 2026 to 2027 to establish a regional self-reliant soybean industry model that connects production and distribution. This project aims to create a stable supply base and increase self-sufficiency rates by connecting the entire process of production, processing, and distribution of domestic soybeans. As of this year, Gimje City boasts the largest soybean cultivation area in the country, with 7,200 hectares of paddy soybeans, and has a high-quality soybean production base that attracts benchmarking from farmers across the nation every year.
