Texas grapefruit growers have gained access to the Korean market, becoming the third US state to export grapefruit to Korea, following negotiations between the USDA's APHIS and Korea's APQA. The access was officialized on 27 June, requiring grapefruits to be pest-free, specifically free from the Mexican fruit fly. This achievement is due to the USDA's efforts, including virtual site visits during the pandemic, and the maintenance of fruit fly pest-free areas in Texas.
