KOWR: Poland a pumpkin powerhouse in the EU

Since 2020, Poland has been by far the largest pumpkin producer in the European Union. In 2024, Poland's share of the total pumpkin harvest in the EU was 33 percent (383 thousand tons). Besides Poland, significant EU pumpkin producers were also: France (235 thousand tons, 20 percent share of EU production), Spain (172 thousand tons, 15 percent), Germany (114 thousand tons, 10 percent), and Portugal (92 thousand tons, 8 percent). The share of the top five leading pumpkin producers in 2024 accounted for 86 percent of the entire EU production - according to data from the Office of Analysis and Strategy of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Since 2019, there has been a growing trend in pumpkin production in the EU market. In 2024, pumpkin harvests in the European Union reached over 1.2 million tons and were 9 percent higher year-on-year.
