The Sarawak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) will deploy 176 enforcement officers and 101 price monitoring officers to inspect and monitor markets, farmers' markets, and supermarkets during the Chinese New Year Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) from February 8 to 16, 2021. The scheme aims to safeguard consumers from excessive profit-taking activities by unscrupulous traders during the festive season. The controlled items include chicken, chicken eggs, vegetables, dried goods, and pork. The inspection at Everrise supermarket revealed that all controlled items were sold below the maximum price.
