The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security in Malaysia, Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, announced in Dewan Negara that the Paddy Crop Disaster Fund has allocated RM8.38 million to aid 4,946 paddy farmers in Kelantan, Kedah, and Perlis, following disasters that damaged 7,400 hectares of cropland. Due to ongoing floods from June to October, an additional RM12.88 million is needed to support an additional 5,817 farmers, with a detailed assessment of the latest wave of floods expected early next year.
