In January-February 2026, the market for dairy products and eggs in Kyrgyzstan witnessed radical changes. The country's dependence on imported chicken eggs increased many times over, while the export of domestic butter showed a critical decline. This is evidenced by data from the National Statistical Committee. Butter exports from the republic virtually came to a halt. In two months, only 14.3 tons of the product were exported from the republic for 7 million 278.6 thousand soms. Last year, the figure reached 581.1 tons. The volume of exports fell 40 times (to 2.5 percent of the previous year's level). Almost the entire volume of exports went to Kazakhstan. Imports of fresh chicken eggs reached 9 million 637.1 thousand pieces. The volume of supplies was 313.2 percent of the previous year's level (an increase of more than three times).
