The technical team for technology transfer of the Special Project Chavimochic conducted a technical visit in the El Rosario sector, in the district of Chao (La Libertad), with the objective of implementing a demonstration plot for strawberry cultivation, where fungi and beneficial insects produced in the project's laboratories will be applied, as part of the technology transfer actions that the institution promotes for the benefit of family agriculture. During the visit, the specialists inspected four varieties of strawberries cultivated in the area: San Andrea Monterrey, a higher-yielding variety with an average production of 60 tons per hectare, San Andrea, Sabrina, and La Española. The two-hectare plot belongs to the farmer Reinaldo Vega Vásquez, who has 19 years of experience in strawberry cultivation, having developed this activity in regions such as Piura, Lima (Barranca), Ancash (Huaraz), and La Libertad (Chao).
