Lack of light and rains affect the rhythm of forage crops

The Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (6) indicates progress in the development of pastures in different regions of Rio Grande do Sul, influenced by the rainfall regime, luminosity, and temperatures recorded in the period. According to the document, "the native fields, especially the improved ones, are in the regrowth phase," which allowed the movement of the last batches of cattle kept in winter areas and the increase in stocking rates. The oats and common ryegrass pastures are already in the reproductive phase, while the tetraploid ryegrass remains in the vegetative stage. The summer species are advancing in the implantation, although in some regions the low luminosity or the lack of precipitation has "limited the initial growth and prolonged the forage void."
