Ukraine: Lard imports decreased by 40.3% in 3 quarters

In the first nine months of 2024, Ukraine saw a significant reduction in its imports of animal fats and poultry by 40.3%, totaling 10.8 thousand tons and valued at $13.7 million, marking a 31.5% decrease in monetary terms compared to the same period in the previous year. The primary countries exporting these commodities to Ukraine were Poland, Spain, and Germany, accounting for 49.3%, 18.4%, and 13.4% of the imports, respectively. This shift indicates a notable change in Ukraine's dietary preferences and trade relations within the pork and poultry market.
