European fruit growers are facing a surplus of Golden Delicious apples, with stocks having increased by 70% from last year, reaching 372,000 tons. This surplus has led to a significant drop in prices, making it a challenge for growers to sell. The issue is further exacerbated in Poland, where Golden Delicious makes up a significant portion of the stored apples. The rising surplus and declining demand are expected to continue driving down prices, with Italy being the largest holder of these varieties.
