Indonesia: Leading varieties of Balitbangtan increase sweet potato productivity in Lumajang Regency

East Java – The Agricultural Research and Development Agency (Balitbangtan) carried out a sweet potato harvest on 10 hectares of land in Krajan Hamlet, Pasrujambe District, Lumajang Regency, Saturday (4/12/2021). The sweet potatoes harvested are the superior varieties of Balitbangtan which have high beta carotene and anthocyanin content. In his remarks, the Deputy Regent of Lumajang, Ir. Indah Amperawati, M.Sc., thanked the Ministry of Agriculture through the Balitbangtan now that the area is being developed for sweet potato. "I thank Balitbangtan, the Ministry of Agriculture is a blessing for farmers in Lumajang district and should not be wasted because this is a priceless knowledge," he said.
