Meat prices in Egypt have stabilized, according to the butchers division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday. The prices range from 130-150 pounds for Canadian meat, 130-160 pounds per kilo for lamb, and 90-120 pounds per kilo for camel meat. The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has declared an emergency and increased control over markets and outlets for meat and sacrificial animals. The General Authority for Veterinary Services is monitoring markets and outlets to ensure meat safety and quality.
