In August 2024, honey prices in Kazakhstan increased by 1.2% from the previous month and 10.4% from the previous year, with significant regional variations. Honey production from January to July 2024 dropped to 91 tons from 132 tons the previous year, primarily in Shymkent. By the end of 2023, honey sales surged to 33 thousand centners, a 2.3-fold increase. The average honey price was 3,000 tenge per kg, with the highest in Kyzylorda and the lowest in Almaty. The total value of sold products reached 1.4 billion tenge for agricultural formations, 602.1 million tenge for agricultural enterprises, and 787.9 million tenge for individual entrepreneurs. Gross profit rose for agricultural formations and individual entrepreneurs but fell for agricultural enterprises, with the highest profitability seen in individual entrepreneurs from Karaganda, Pavlodar, and Aktobe regions, and North Kazakhstan leading among agricultural enterprises.
