Vietnam: Linking to build raw material areas, lessons in exporting agricultural products

The Mekong Delta region is a major contributor to the country's fruit exports. Many fruits such as durian, mango, longan, dragon fruit, star apple have entered international markets and are well received by consumers. In Can Tho, the fruit tree area is over 25,000 hectares. Agricultural products in high-quality growing areas of Can Tho have entered international markets. In the first months of the year, Can Tho exported batches of Tuong Da Xanh mangoes and longan fruit to the US and Australian markets. These shipments are exported by air, shortening transportation time and allowing products to reach consumers in the shortest time. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, living in Thoi Hung commune, Co Do district, said that his family is currently growing longan to export to the US, Australia and some other countries.
