Brazilian grain exports through Amazon ports in 2023 reached over 51 million tons, a 22% increase from 2022, despite challenges such as a super drought and climate crisis. The president of Amport, Flávio Acatauassú, stated that the region has the potential to ship over 58 million tons of bulk per year, with projects in place to expand a further 42 million tons over the next six years. The Amazon Arc, comprising ports in states such as Maranhão and Rondônia, is highlighted by the infrastructure of the Barcarena port complex and its strategic location.
