Deputy Prime Minister Jurin Laksanawisit has announced plans to tackle the price crisis in the Thai fruit market, particularly durian and longan, by accelerating three measures to boost exports, especially to China. Despite concerns over a potential suspension of Thai longan imports, negotiations are underway to allow exports of longans that meet sanitary conditions. The Ministry of Commerce is organizing consumption promotion festivals in major Chinese cities and arranging negotiation activities for longan traders. Additionally, a subsidy of 3-5 baht per kilogram will be provided to longan collectors to improve purchasing prices. Overall, Thailand's fruit exports have seen a significant increase of 37.68% in the first half of the year, reaching 98,626.42 million baht.
