The General Administration of Customs (GAC) in China has announced the resumption of imports of Wendan pomelo from Taiwan, following a suspension imposed since August 2022 due to concerns over quarantine pests and other issues. The decision to resume imports was made after assessing the corrective measures taken by Taiwanese fruit farmers. From now on, Wendan pomelos imported to the mainland must come from registered orchards and packaging factories. The GAC's website will publish a list of these companies. The suspension was initially imposed to safeguard biological security and consumer health. The decision to resume imports was influenced by efforts to enhance product quality and safety by Taiwanese authorities and businesses.
