A total of nearly 50 people, including 27 children, in France have fallen ill with Salmonella infections after consuming a type of dry cured sausage from Spain. The source of the outbreak has been traced back to fuet produced by the Spanish company Embutidos Caula SL. All batches and dates of the product have been recalled. The symptoms of Salmonella infection include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, and can mimic other illnesses. The most vulnerable groups include infants, children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems.
