In November, China experienced a limited domestic mango supply, with the majority of fruits sourced from Hainan, and smaller contributions from Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, totaling around 20,000 metric tons. This led to a significant increase in farm gate prices, which were three to four times the peak levels from June to August, and a 12.3% rise in the average wholesale price in producing regions compared to the previous year. The article also discusses the seasonal nature of domestic mango prices, the regional variation in prices, and China's mango export dynamics over the first 10 months of 2024. Exports to Asia, particularly Vietnam, Russia, and Hong Kong, saw a 108% and 107% increase in volume and value, respectively, compared to the previous year, driven by high demand and competitive pricing.
