In a remarkable surge, Korea experienced a significant uptick in the importation of tropical fruits last month, with record-breaking increases in the imports of pineapples and mangoes. According to data from the Korea Customs Service, March saw a 44.7% rise in pineapple imports by volume and a 55.3% increase in value year-over-year, while mango imports astonishingly doubled in both volume and value, showcasing a 114.0% and 110.5% growth respectively. The trend extended to other fruits as well, with banana imports climbing by 27.7% in volume and oranges by 1.7% in volume and 8.5% in value, indicating a growing appetite for tropical fruits in Korea.
