In April, my country's sugar imports were valued at US$33 million, a 15.95% decrease year-on-year, with an import volume of 54,300 tons, down 27.46% year-on-year. However, in the first four months, cumulative sugar imports reached US$767 million, a 60.79% increase year-on-year, with a volume of 1.2575 million tons, up 23.08% year-on-year. The top ten sources for these imports, accounting for 99.59% of the total, were Brazil, South Korea, El Salvador, South Africa, Nicaragua, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Guatemala, and Mauritius. Brazil was the primary source, with imports valued at US$638 million, a 113.10% increase year-on-year, and US$2 million in April alone, up 353.55% year-on-year.
