Market for main importing countries of sugar from January to September 2025

According to statistics from China's customs, in September, China's sugar imports amounted to 240 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%; the import volume was 548,200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 35.8%. In the first nine months, China's cumulative sugar imports were 1.43 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 10.8%; the import volume was 3,155,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%. In terms of the market, in the first nine months, the top ten countries/regions for China's sugar imports were Brazil, Thailand, El Salvador, Nicaragua, South Korea, South Africa, Honduras, Malaysia, India, and Mauritius, accounting for a combined 99.2% of China's sugar import value.
