Market opening for barley grains from Spain will benefit Peruvian livestock

In order to contribute to livestock production and its derivatives in the country, the National Agrarian Health Service-SENASA, through Directorial Resolution 0019-2021-MIDAGRI-SENASA-DSV, approved the phytosanitary requirements for the importation of barley grain ( Hordeum vulgare) of origin and provenance from Spain. This regulation was initiated at the request of the Peruvian Dairy Farmers Association - AGALEP, due to the high costs of imported food for dairy production; which would be reduced with the production of barley hydroponic forage, directly benefiting the entire national livestock sector.
