Prices of purchase of live pigs On 9-15.09.2024, meat plants monitored as part of the Integrated Agricultural Market Information System of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development purchased slaughter pigs at PLN 7.02/kg, i.e. 2% more expensive than in the previous week. The price of this live pig was also 2% higher than a month ago, but 13% lower than in the same period of 2023. In the EU in the second week of September this year, the purchase price of class E slaughter pigs, similarly to the week before, was EUR 204.51/100 kg of chilled post-slaughter weight and was 1% lower than a month ago and 11% lower than a year ago. The price of this class of live pigs in Poland expressed in euro was 4.5% higher than the EU average and amounted to EUR 213.62/100 kg.
