In early 2024, Poland's live pig purchase prices saw a slight increase of 0.5% week-on-week, but were still 5% lower than the previous month. Meanwhile, the EU's average price for class E slaughter pigs fell by 0.2% within a week. Pork half-carcasses in Poland were sold 2% cheaper week-on-week and 8% cheaper than at the start of January. Slaughter cattle prices increased by 1% from the previous month but were 8% lower than the previous year. Prices for live poultry, including broiler chickens, turkeys, and broiler ducks, decreased both week-on-week and month-on-month. Gutted chicken carcasses were sold 1% higher than the previous week but were 10% lower than the previous month.
