Meat production is expected to hit a record in 2026

Conab highlighted that the good performance of broiler farming, along with pig farming, influences the total meat production in the country, estimated at 32.6 million tons in 2026. The number corresponds to "a slight increase of 0.4%" over the forecast for 2025 and also sets a record. Conab informed that the result of poultry meat production this year allows for an increase in the domestic supply, even with the forecast of exports of 5.2 million tons, up from 5.15 million tons shipped in 2024. The state-owned company recalled that external sales were affected by the case of Avian Influenza registered in May in Rio Grande do Sul, but emphasized that other markets "absorbed a significant part of the production."
