The report by Spain's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for January 2022 reveals a mixed picture for the country's animal slaughter industry. While there was an overall increase in cattle, pig, and sheep slaughtered, poultry meat production saw a decrease of 1.39%, totaling 130,233 tons. Andalusia remained the leading producer, but there was a decrease in production from the previous campaign. On the other hand, beef production saw a 9% increase, with Catalonia leading in production. Sheep sector experienced the highest growth of 11.34%, with Castilla y León seeing a significant increase. Pork meat production also increased by 8.29%, with Catalonia and Aragón showing the highest growth.
