[Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper Reporter Lee Woo-jung] Lee Ji-young, a member of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Council from the Democratic Party of Korea (proportional representation), inspected the potato production site at Goseong-gun Geojin Agricultural Cooperative on the 4th and held a meeting to listen to difficulties. This meeting was organized to directly check the current status of potato production in the Geojin area on-site and to seek practical support measures reflecting the voices of farmers. During the site inspection, difficulties due to the aging of the potato sorting machines were proposed. The Geojin Agricultural Cooperative stated that the mechanical sorting machine (potato sorting machine) for sorting, packaging, and commercialization of potatoes purchased in the area has not been replaced since its initial installation 12 years ago, leading to severe aging and continuous expenditure on repairs.
