Argentina: A harvest of 7 million tons of cherries is expected in Mendoza

(NAP) Cherry production in the province of Mendoza will exceed 7 million tons for this season, according to the latest report published by the Institute of Rural Development (IDR). From the IDR, which depends on the Ministry of Economy and Energy, they highlighted that the figures on “the harvest forecast for this season amounts to 7,068 tons. Of that total, just over 72% (485 hectares) are located in the departments that make up the Uco Valley.” In this regard, they expanded: “The departments located in the so-called Northern Zone are the second in importance in terms of production. There is 23.5% of the province's production (1,664 tons) distributed over 160 hectares.
