The country's production experienced an annual growth rate of 3.6% from 2017 to 2019. Romain and Orejona lettuces, which together made up 98% of the national harvest, were the main crops. The majority of the produce was exported to the United States, accounting for a 98% share with an average annual growth rate of 11.3% from 2015 to 2020, making it the primary export destination.
