From January to August 2021, the United States exported 2 million tons of pork, with Mexico importing over 543,000 tons, a 25% increase in volume and 56% increase in value compared to the previous year. In August alone, pork exports to Mexico saw a 47% increase in tonnage and a 109% increase in value. The total commercialization of pork meat in North America was 2.025 million tons, generating an economic spill of $5.6 billion. Additionally, pork meat exports to Colombia and the Dominican Republic saw significant increases in both volume and value compared to the same period in 2020.
