The supply of fresh vegetable products with safety certificates in self-service and department stores in Mexico has quadrupled within five months, increasing from 10 to 36 foods. This initiative, a collaboration between the National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality (Senasica) and the National Association of Self-service and Department Stores (ANTAD), aims to provide consumers with assurance of food safety by offering products that meet national market standards. The agreement, which started with 10 foods including strawberries, chili, and avocado, has been expanded to include additional produce. The direct interaction between producers and retailers through this program ensures a responsible supply of vegetables that are harvested and distributed under optimal hygiene conditions.
