Mexico's agricultural production is expected to hit a seven-year low in 2025, with corn production being the most affected, decreasing by 5.6% to 21.7 million tons. This will make Mexico the largest importer of corn, mostly yellow corn from the US. The grain and oilseeds segment is expected to decrease by 7% in 2025. Vegetable production is also expected to decrease significantly, while livestock production is expected to remain stable. The value of production is projected to decrease by 8.5% in 2025, despite high market prices.
