Midagri and GORE Arequipa met to boost Majes Siguas, Yanapuquio, and Tambo Bajo

As part of the coordinated work with all regions of Peru, the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Vladimir Cuno, met with the Regional Government of Arequipa and local authorities to review the situational reports of important irrigation projects for the region. In this way, progress, challenges, and immediate actions regarding the Majes Siguas, Yanapuquio, and Tambo Bajo projects were evaluated, which are considered high priority due to their impact on boosting agricultural production, expanding the irrigation frontier, and promoting sustainable development in southern Peru. The meeting also allowed for addressing the topic of technical assistance for the formulation of prevention sheets, corresponding to the critical points identified in riverside defenses and intakes of the five basins in the Arequipa region.
