Peruvian Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Nelly Paredes del Castillo, announced that the price of chicken has remained stable for the past 11 days, indicating a trend towards normalization. This fluctuation in price was initially caused by a shortage of soybean meal due to access issues from Bolivia. The minister also explained that the summer season usually sees an increase in chicken prices due to dehydration, leading to a smaller bird and higher cost. To ensure a sufficient supply, the Ministries of Agriculture and Production are permitting private companies to purchase fertile eggs from Brazil, with the first shipment expected in 13 weeks.
