Raspberry is emerging as a strategic crop in the country's fruit diversification. This was highlighted by Agromercado, an entity attached to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), during the webinar "Commercial trends of raspberry cultivation in Peru," in which the behavior of the international market and the opportunities that this high-value berry offers for Peru were analyzed. According to the information presented, in 2024, global raspberry production reached 920 million tons, with sustained growth led by the main producing countries: Russia, Mexico, Serbia, the United States, and Poland. This dynamism is also reflected in the international trade of frozen berries, which, under tariff item 081120 -which includes raspberries, blackberries, dewberries, and gooseberries-, moved approximately 1251 million dollars that same year.
