Argentina has successfully exported the first shipment of 5,000 kilos of frozen rainbow trout to the United States, marking a significant milestone in its aquaculture industry. This achievement is made possible by the new facility built by the Chilean company Idris Patagonia-Mar Andino in Piedra del Águila, which has created 200 jobs and aims to expand its production to 15,000 tons by 2030. The project, which started with the importation of fish eggs from Denmark in 2019, has received support from local and national authorities and has already reached a production of 3,000 tons. The company's investments and the broader efforts to expand aquaculture in Argentina are praised for their potential to generate foreign currency and create jobs.
